Following the creation of CAB Cornwall in April 2009, the existing Social Policy Group operating in Cornwall was transformed from an information exchange into a body taking a more proactive approach generating its own priorities and activities within the county. It took on the title of Cornwall Campaigning Action Group (CCAG) to better reflect this change in priorities.

In the first year of operation the Group has initiated a study of Rural Deprivation in three parts focussing on Access to Services, Transport to Hospital and Fuel Issues. It has also collated data and examples of problems encountered by our clients to inform the Trustee Board, developing a monthly performance report to present this in a consistent and digestible form.

CCAG comprises representatives from each of the offices within CAB Cornwall. Meeting once a month, the Group: -

CCAG collects evidence of CAB clients' problems and uses this to campaign for changes in national and local policies and services. Our experience gives us a unique, fresh insight into the problems faced by our clients and represents that of a wide range of people living in Cornwall.
